“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” — Luke 10:42 (NKJV)

How do you show God you love Him? We often point to busy schedules—church events, service projects, and ministry checklists. But activity isn’t the true barometer of adoration; heart attitude is.

Martha loved Jesus, but her devotion was consumed with frantically serving Him. Mary also loved Him, yet chose to sit at His feet in quiet adoration.

A.W. Tozer observed: “Jesus commended Mary for knowing that one thing is necessary—that God should be loved and praised above all other business… He wants first an inner experience of the heart, and from that will grow the profound and divine activities which are necessary.”

Service flows from devotion, never as a replacement for it. God doesn’t want your frantic hustle nearly as much as He desires your heart.

Personal Application: Slow down today. Before you dive into your busy to-do list for God, sit at the feet of Jesus. Tell Him you love Him while standing still, letting true worship fuel your service.
