Microchips, viruses, atoms—tiny things often pack mind-blowing power. The same principle applies in the realm of faith.
When faced with a mountain of adversity, Jesus doesn’t demand a mountain-sized faith. He asks for a mustard-seed amount placed in an almighty God.
Devotional writer Oswald Chambers noted that God often knocks the bottom out of our circumstances to bring us back to Himself. Faith isn’t just floating on sentimental feelings during easy seasons; it’s anchored in God’s unchanging character when storms rage. As Job declared in his darkest hour, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15, NKJV).
Saying you trust a bank means nothing until you deposit your money. Likewise, declaring faith in God is meaningless unless you actually surrender your worries to His sovereignty.
Personal Application: What mountain are you staring at today? Stop measuring the height of your obstacle and start measuring the object of your faith. Hand your doubts to Him, rest in His strength, and trust Him to move that mountain in His perfect timing.
