“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” —Romans 1:16, NKJV

Paul wrote Romans nearly two thousand years ago, yet its message remains as powerful today as when the ink was fresh. Why? Because Romans answers humanity’s greatest question: How can sinful people have peace with a holy God?

The answer is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God does not simply ignore our sin or pretend it never happened. His justice demands that sin be judged. At the cross, Jesus willingly took our place, shed His blood, and paid the penalty for our sins. His resurrection declares that He is God, Savior, and Lord. Therefore, God can justly forgive and give new life to everyone who repents and believes in Christ.

That is why Paul was unashamed.

Personal application: Never treat the gospel as something ordinary. Remember what Jesus has done for you, live with gratitude, and look for opportunities to tell others. The world desperately needs good news—and we have the best news of all.
