Take a seed, bury it in dirt, and it seems lost forever. Yet burial isn’t the end; it’s the catalyst for new life and an abundant harvest.
Facing the cross, Jesus used this principle to explain the necessity of His coming death. The world saw Calvary as defeat, but in God’s economy, it was the ultimate victory.
Theologian A.B. Bruce noted: “Jesus’ purpose is to make it clear… that death and increase may go together. A grain of wheat, by dying, becomes fruitful; so I must die in order to become… an object of faith and source of life.”
Through His death and resurrection, Christ broke the power of sin, producing a vast harvest of redeemed lives—including yours.
The law of the seed applies to every disciple. Spiritual fruitfulness always requires dying to self, laying down our own ambitions, and trusting God with the results.
Personal Application: What personal agenda or selfish ambition do you need to surrender to God today? Fall into the ground of His will, die to your own self-interest, and watch Him produce a fruitful harvest in your life.
